Premium pay is lost for the whole pay period if you are late or miss work without a two weeks notice (employees have legitimately lost premium pay due to car accidents, illness in the family, inclement weather, concussions, and more). For Christmas Eve evening, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve evening and New Year's Day, I believe employees were paid time and a half for working but I am uncertain.Įvery appointment and personal event must be taken off two weeks in advance or the employee looses the whole pay period's amount of premium pay (which can be a sufficient amount, depending on how long you have been there). This encourages employees to work holidays, even if your are a back of house employee such as a accountant. If an employee works on a holiday, the employee receives regular pay and is rewarded 1 hour of PTO for every hour worked. PTO employees earn goes to sick days, inclement weather days, holidays and can be taken away if employee can't work days outside of their regular scheduled work hours. No paid holidays, front and back of house employees must use earned PTO for holidays.ĭoes not promote an environemnt where employees with families can thrive. There was pressure to work a lot of overtime and management sets a poor example of work/life balance. The team and I weren't trusted enough by our manager to handle our own work load and treated as incompetent individuals.
